A minus balance on a card is a situation in which the amount on the card becomes negative. This may lead to restrictions on the use of the service and creation of new cards.

1. Currency fluctuations

When paying in a currency other than the card currency, the amount may change due to exchange rate differences. If the exchange rate does not change in your favor, the total amount charged may exceed the available balance, resulting in a negative balance.

2. Rejected Payment Fee

If a transaction is declined, the fee for the declined payment may be charged to the card, even if there are insufficient funds on the card. This may result in a minus balance.

3. Forced debiting by merchant (overdraft)

Some merchants (e.g. subscription services, advertising platforms) may try to repeatedly debit the card even if it has insufficient balance. In such cases, the payment system may perform the transaction, creating a minus balance.

1. Restriction on issuing new cards - creation of new cards will be unavailable until the debt is paid off.

2. Withdrawal restriction - if you have a negative balance, you will not be able to withdraw money from your account until the debt is paid off.
