Why didn't the payment go through?

Sometimes when you try to pay for a product or service, the payment may be declined. The reasons may vary, but it is important to realize that if the transaction is not showing up in the Finup system, it means that the problem is on the merchant's side.

Possible reasons for payment rejection

1. Merchant's anti-fraud system

Some sites have their own security algorithms that can automatically reject payments if they appear suspicious.

2. Mismatched IP address and card region

If your IP address doesn't match the card's country of issue, some platforms may block the payment.

3. Merchant does not support payment from cards without 3D Secure

3DS is automatically enabled on all Finup BINs. However, if the merchant requires 3DS validation on payment and the merchant does not have the correct verification process in place, the payment may not go through.

4. Merchant's payment system limitations

Some sites only work with certain types of cards (for example, only local cards of certain countries).

What to do if the payment does not go through?

1. Try paying with a different card.

Use a card with an alternative BIN.

2. Contact Merchant Support

Find out what payment methods it supports and whether it is possible to change the parameters of the transaction.

3. Try an alternative payment method

Some merchants offer PayPal, cryptocurrency or bank transfer - maybe one of these options will work.
