Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security for your Finup account, designed to protect your data and funds.

When using two-factor authentication, signing in to your account requires not only a password but also a one-time verification code. This means that even if your password becomes known to third parties, access to the account will be impossible without the additional code.

Two-factor authentication helps protect your account by automatically verifying that it is you who is signing in. With each sign-in attempt or when performing sensitive actions, Finup requests a one-time code that is generated in an authenticator app linked to your account.

The one-time code is valid for a limited time and is used only once. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access even if the login and password are compromised.

Two-factor authentication is used to sign in to your Finup account, as well as to confirm withdrawals from your account balance.

Below, we have prepared a simple step-by-step guide that will help you quickly set up 2FA in your Finup account.

Step 1. Install the Google Authenticator app

To set up two-factor authentication, you will need the Google Authenticator app.

If the app is already installed on your device, open it and proceed to the next step of the instructions.

If the app is not installed, download it from the official app store:

  • iOS devices — via the Apple App Store

  • for Android devices — via the Google Play Store

Step 2. Add your Finup account to Google Authenticator

Open the Google Authenticator app on your device.

Tap the «+» icon — after that, two options for connecting 2FA will be available.

Option 1. Scan a QR code

Select the «Scan a QR code» option and scan the QR code displayed in your Finup account.

Option 2. Enter the setup key manually

If you are unable to scan the QR code, select the «Enter a setup key» option.

Copy the code located below the QR code in your Finup account and enter it manually in the Google Authenticator app.

Step 3. Confirm the activation of two-factor authentication

After successfully adding your Finup account to the Google Authenticator app, click the «Next» button in the Finup interface.

Enter the 6-digit one-time code generated in the Google Authenticator app.

💡Please note: the code is refreshed every 30 seconds.

If there is little time left before it expires, we recommend waiting for a new code to be generated and entering it to ensure the confirmation is completed correctly.

After entering the correct code, two-factor authentication will be successfully enabled for your Finup account. ✅
