AML deposit verification: what it means and what to do if your deposit did not pass the verification

Written by Diana

What is AML deposit verification?

AML (Anti-Money Laundering) - is a procedure designed to analyze financial transactions and cryptocurrency wallets in order to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and the use of illegally obtained funds.

Every deposit in Finup goes through an automatic AML verification process before the funds are credited to your account balance.

Refund of funds that did not pass AML verification

If a deposit does not pass the automatic AML verification, a corresponding notification with further processing instructions will appear in the Finup account support chat.

Refund process:

  1. To request a refund, you need to provide the wallet address for the refund in the support chat.
    The wallet address must belong to the same network and cryptocurrency that was used for the original deposit.

  2. After receiving the required information, the support operator will forward the request for further processing.

  3. Refunds for deposits that did not pass AML verification are processed during support working hours — from 10:00 to 20:00 (UTC+3).

  4. Once the refund has been successfully processed, the deposit address for the corresponding network and cryptocurrency used for the transaction will be automatically changed.

  5. For all future deposits, you must use only the new wallet address displayed in your Finup account when creating a new deposit.

⚠️ Important: After the address change, the system will no longer process deposits sent from:

  • the old deposit address;

  • the sender wallet address used for the deposit that failed AML verification;

  • the wallet address to which the refunded funds were sent.

Such deposits will not be credited and may become unavailable for further use.
